Connors State College Cowgirls Win on Sophomore Night

The Cowgirls ended their regular season with a 68-57 victory over the NOC Enid Lady Jets on Monday evening giving them a regular season record of 17-11. The Cowgirls came out of the game strong lead by their lone sophomore Adrian Crockwell who finished with a season high 22 points 15 of them coming in the first half. The Cowgirls jumped out early on the lady Jets leading 20-16 at the end of the first quarter and then took an 8 point half time advantage. The Lady Jets came storming back in the 3rd quarter taking the first lead of the game at 46-45 off an and one play. The Cowgirls rallied with a big three point shot by Haitiana Releford to take a 2 point lead and never look back. The Cowgirls finished with 3 players scoring in double figures led by sophomore guard Adrian Crockwell with 22 points, Haitiana Releford with 18 points and Kylie Eubanks with 11 points. Rounding out the scoring for the Cowgirls was Kayley Turner with 9 points, Samantha Shanks with 5 points and Carrigan Hill with 3 points. 

"Overall this was a great quality team win for us tonight everyone contributed." said Head Coach Jamie Fisher "The bench was into the game the whole night, the girls on the floor stepped up and played great defense espcially Zoe' Nation it was just a fun environment to be in this evening." said Fisher "I really appreciate the home crowd atmosphere this eveing and can't wait to see how our fan base shows out in the Region Tournament in our own backyard."

The Cowgirls will start Region 2 Tournament play on Thursday March 9th in Rougher Village Arena against NOC Tonkawa.
